CASME Database

Micro-expressions are fleeting facial expressions that can reveal genuine emotions people try to conceal, with potential applications in areas such as lie detection and risk behavior screening. CASME provides spontaneous micro-expression samples elicited and carefully coded in lab settings. From ~1500 facial movements recorded at 60 fps, 195 micro-expressions were selected and annotated with onset/peak/offset frames, action units (AUs), and emotion labels.
